CoVid19: Flying Restrictions in the World (19.03.20)

CoVid19-related Flying Restrictions (NOTAMS), valid on 20th March 2020, 69 Countries:

Albania

Flights to/from Italy, UK and Greece are prohibited with no exemptions. 

Argentina

All flights from Europe and the US are suspended. Travelers arriving from countries with a significant number of cases will be required to go into quarantine for 14 days.

Armenia

No restrictions.

Algeria

All international flights to/from Algeria prohibited. 

Australia

Foreign nationals who have been in China, Iran, South Korea or Italy are not allowed to enter Australia for 14 days from the time they have left or transited through these countries; all travelers to Australia from everywhere else will be required to self isolate for 14 days.

Austria

 

Flights to/from China, Iran, Italy, South Korea, France, Switzerland, Spain, UK, the Netherlands, Ukraine and Russia are prohibited; exemptions granted. Citizens from countries outside the European Union who have been in coronavirus hot spots, which the Austrian Foreign Ministry currently lists as France, Iran, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and parts of China in the past 14 days will have to present a medical certificate confirming a negative test result for the new coronavirus upon entry to the country

Azerbaïdjan

 

All international flights to/from Azerbaïdjan prohibited, except Cargo flights. 

Belgium

All nonessential travel outside of Belgium is forbidden. Travelers arriving in Belgium from abroad are not currently being asked to quarantine.

Bahrein

 

Foreign nationals are being denied entry if they have visited China, Iran, Iraq or South Korea within the past 14 days, and travelers from a long list of other countries will be tested on arrival and may be put into quarantine.

Bolivia

All flights to and from Europe are suspended. Foreign nationals arriving from China and South Korea are also prohibited from entry.

Bosnia-Herzegovina

 

Passengers from China, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran, France, Romania, Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium  

Bulgaria

 

Flights to/from China/Korea/Italy/Iran/Spain are prohibited. Exemptions granted with prior approval. 

Canada

 

Foreign nationals from all countries except the US are banned from entering Canada. This measure does not apply to flight crews or transit passengers. International flights can now only use 4 airports: Toronto Pearson, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver, to allow for enhanced screening (although this rule does not apply to flights from the US, Mexico and the Caribbean, and Canadian domestic flights). All travelers arriving in Canada are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days as a precaution. 

China

Wuhan – still closed until further notice.
Wenzhou and Hangzhou – all international inbound flights are suspended.
Beijing – all travelers arriving into Beijing must go into quarantine for 14 days at places
designated by the Beijing authorities. Other cities have not yet formally put in place similar measures (but are likely to do so in due course).
Guangzhou, Shanghai, Pudong –  14 days of mandatory quarantine for people who have visited or transited France, Germany, Spain, the US, Italy, Iran, Japan or South Korea over the preceding 14 days before arriving in China. 

Croatia

Travelers arriving in Croatia from specific hard-hit areas, such as Italy, Iran and China’s Hubei province, must spend 2 weeks in government quarantine facilities at the expense of the traveler. 

Chile

 

Chile has closed its borders to foreign nationals.

 

Czech Republic

 

Flights to/from  China/Korea/Italy are prohibited with no exemptions. International flights allowed only to Prague Airport, excepted for Cargo. 

Cyprus

 

Passengers from any other country except Cyprus not allowed to travel
to Cyprus, with some exemptions. 

Denmark

 

Flights to/from  China (Hubei)/ Korea/ Italy/ Iran/Austria (Tyrol) are prohibited with minor exemptions. 

Non-Danish citizens will not be allowed to enter the country unless they've clear reasons.

Ecuador

 

All inbound flights are now prohibited except those carrying Ecuadorian citizens/residents, or empty aircraft going in to evacuate
people.

Egypt

 

All international flights to/from Egypt prohibited, except Cargo flights. 

Estonia

 

Passengers from any other country except Estonia not allowed to travel to Estonia, with some exemptions. Transit allowed provided no CoVid19 symptoms.  

Georgia

 

Restrictions for all foreign passengers, with some exemptions. 

Germany

Germany has closed its borders with Austria, Denmark, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland.

Greece

 

Flights to/from  Spain/Italy are prohibited with few exemptions. All international travelers who arrive in the country must undergo a 14-day mandatory self-quarantine

Hungary

Flights to/from  China/Korea/Italy/Israel/Iran are prohibited with no exemptions.

Hong-Kong

 

All passengers entering Hong Kong will be required to go into compulsory quarantine for 14 days. For Hong Kong residents, this can take place at home. For everyone else, quarantine must be at a government quarantine centre – you
can’t serve your 14 day quarantine period in a hotel. Transit flights not affected, unless you fail the health screening.

India

Passenger flights from countries in Europe (including the UK) are prohibited. Passengers arriving from UAE, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait will be quarantined for 14 days. 

 

All incoming travelers, including Indian nationals, arriving from or having visited China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, France, Spain and Germany after Feb 15 shall be quarantined for a minimum period of 14 days.

Ireland

No restrictions.

Israel

Passengers from any other countries except Israel are subjected to restrictions.  Permission to enter Israel will be considered for foreign nationals who can prove that they have a place and are able to go into a 14-day isolation.” This exception does not apply to foreign nationals coming from: China, South Korea, Thailand, Italy, Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Egypt.

Italy

 

All international flights to/from Italy prohibited, with some exemptions.

If you’re trying to fly out of there, there’s a high chance that wherever you’re going to will now have some kind of inbound travel restriction or outright flight ban – check the FIR Notams for that country, as well as the latest entry restrictions published on official government websites. Keep an eye on the Deskaeronautico site for the latest on Italian airport closures. 

Japan

Entry to Japan is prohibited for foreign nationals who have travelled to these places within the last 14 days:
– China: Hubei or Zhejiang provinces
– South Korea: The city of Daegu or the neighbouring county of Cheongo; and the cities of Gyeongsan, Andong, Yeoncheo, and counties of Chilgok, Uiseong, Seongju or Gunwi in North Gyeongsang Province.
– Iran: Qom Province, Tehran Province, Gilan Province, Alborz Province, Isfahan Province, Qazvin Province, Golestan Province, Semnan Province, Mazandaran Province, Markazi Province, Lorestan Province.
– Italy and San Marino
No more visas will be issued to travelers from China and South Korea, all inbound flights will only be allowed to land at RJAA/Narita and RJBB/Kansai airports, and all travelers will be asked to go intoquarantine at designated locations for 14 days.

Jordan

All passengers arriving from all countries quarantined for 14 days. 

Kuwait

 

Foreign nationals are no longer allowed to enter Kuwait. 

Latvia

 

All international flights to/from Italy prohibited, with some exemptions. Mandatory isolation for arriving passengers. There are no restrictions on leaving the country.

Lebanon

Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport closed, with some exemptions. 

Lithuania

 

Passengers from any other countries except Lithuania are not allowed, with some exemptions. Anyone returning from abroad will be required to self-isolate for 14 days

Libya

 

All international flights to/from Libya prohibited, with some exemptions. 

Malta

Flights to/from China, France, Italy, Germany, Hong-Kong, Iran, Singapore, South Korea, Spain and Switzerland prohibited, with some exemptions. Mandatory isolation for arriving passengers. 

Mexico

 

No restrictions so far. Keep an eye on the official government site they have set up for all things coronavirus related. 

Malaysia

All foreigners have been banned from entering the country, and all Malaysians will not be allowed to travel overseas. All returning Malaysians will have to self quarantine for 14 days.
Foreign nationals are permitted to depart the country.  

Moldova

 

All international flights to/from Moldova prohibited, with no exemptions. 

Montenegro

 

All international flights to/from Montenegro prohibited, with no exemptions. 

Morocco

 

All international flights to/from Morocco prohibited, except cargo flights.  

Repatriation flight for ALL countries allowed. Private and VIP flights require
pre-authorisation

Netherlands

 

Flights to/from China/Italy/ Iran/Korea are prohibited. 

Norway

 

Foreign passengers not allowed to enter the country, except for residents of Norway; airports open for international flights enabling people leaving. Passengers travelling from abroad quarantined with exemptions.

New Zealand

 

Foreign nationals who have been present in, or transited through, Iran or mainland China in the previous 14 days cannot enter New Zealand. Travelers to New Zealand from the  rest of the world, except most Pacific Islands, must isolate themselves upon arrival for 14 days.

Peru

 

All flights are suspended until Mar 31.
There’s another Notam which bans flights to/from Europe and Asia until Apr 15.

Paraguay

Suspension of direct flights to and from Spain. Air Europa provide the only direct service between Europe and Paraguay.
 

All travelers who have been in China, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong,
Italy, or Iran within the past 15 days must self-quarantine for 14 days.

Portugal

 

Flight to/from  Spain/Italy prohibited. Passengers travelling from abroad quarantined with exemptions.

Poland

 

All international flights to/from Poland prohibited, with no exemptions. All Polish citizens returning from abroad must voluntarily quarantine for two weeks. 

Qatar

 

All international passengers
(including those with a residence permit) are not allowed to enter Qatar. Transit passengers going on to another destination will still be able to transfer through Qatar. Qatari citizens will continue to be allowed into the country after they quarantine for two weeks.

Russia

Foreign passengers not allowed to enter the country, except for residents of Russia, diplomats, crew, and transit
passengers.

Romania

Foreign passengers travelling from Italy, Iran,China,Korea including layover/stopover flights not allowed on any airline; Romanian passengers travelling from those countries obliged to quarantineAll asymptomatic people coming from countries with over 500 confirmed CoVid19 cases will be quarantined. 

Serbia

Restrictions for all foreign passengers,
exemptions granted for nationals of Serbia and other categories (e.g. diplomats). Mandatory 14-day quarantine for anyone entering the country.Travelers from certain countries — Switzerland, Iran, Romania, Spain, Germany, France, Austria, Slovenia and Greece — will be quarantined for 28 days.

Singapore

All travelers, including Singapore residents, who have travelled to these countries within the past 14 days will be issued with a 14-day Stay-Home Notice: ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam), Japan, Switzerland, and the UK.


This is in addition to the previous rules announced, banning entry (including transit) to foreign nationals who have been to these countries within the past 14 days:
Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Iran, South Korea, China. 

Saudi Arabia

All international flights suspended.

Slovakia

All international flights to/from Slovakia prohibited, with no exemptions. All the persons coming to Slovakia from abroad are obliged to remain in quarantine for 14 days

Spain

Flights between Spain and Italy
are prohibited with exemptions
for State, emergency cargo and ferry.

Switzerland

Passengers travelling from Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Spain and all countries outside the EU/EFTA not allowed into Switzerland, with some exemptions: swiss citizens, residents, cross-borders, business visas, transits, health specialists. 

Taiwan

Foreign nationals, except those holding valid resident permits, will not be permitted to enter Taiwan. Effective immediately, self-isolation will now be required for those
who entered Taiwan from the UK, Ireland and Schengen Area.

Tunisia

All international flights to/from Tunisia prohibited, with no exemptions. 

Turkey

Flights from/to:  Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Iraq, Italy, Kosovo, Mongolia, Norway, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom  are prohibited.

 

Foreign nationals who have visited these countries within the past 14 days are also barred from entering the country. Turkish citizens, including dual citizens, are exempt, but they could be subject to a quarantine requirement.

United States

Entry is denied to any foreign nationals who have been in these countries within the past 14 days: the UK, Ireland, any of the 26 Schengen countries, China, and Iran. The rule does not apply to US residents, or foreign flight crew travelling on a C-1, D, or C-1/D visa. 
 

All flights from these countries are being re-routed through 11 airports: KJFK/New York, KEWR/Newark, KATL/Atlanta, KORD/Chicago, KSFO/San Francisco, KSEA/Seattle, KLAX/Los Angeles, PNHL/Honolulu, KDFW/Dallas, KDTW/Detroit, and KIAD/Washington.

Ukraine

Foreign passengers not allowed to enter the country, except for residents of Ukraine and other categories; international passenger checkpoints
closed

United Kingdom

Check out the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office website. The UK has eyes on the ground pretty much everywhere. Each country has a dedicated page, with a specific section on the coronavirus and the latest restrictions on inbound travel, which gets updated regularly.

United Arab Emirates

Flights from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, and Turkey are prohibited. The UAE are temporarily suspending all visas on arrival.

Uzbekistan

All international flights to/from Uzbekistan prohibited, with no exemptions. 

Uruguay 

All passengers arriving from China, South Korea, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Iran, France and Germany must go into mandatory quarantine for 14
days.
